As you look through our site, you’ll realize we can’t tell you everything about spiders. We can’t even cover the entire knowledge base of Joro spiders. Instead, we hope you are inspired to explore these beautiful creatures more deeply.

Listed here are books worth reading. There’s something for all ages so please, poke around.

When you buy a book, you are helping support this site, so, ahead of time, thank you.

Scientific Classification

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Arthropoda
Subphylum: Chelicerata
Class: Arachnida
Order: Araneae

Spiders, simply described, might not sound diverse. Eight legs. No antennae. Some variety of webbing. Fangs which, mostly, can inject venom. Orb spiders fall into our traditional understanding of spiders. Bulbous body, circular yet geometric web, visible prey stuck in the web. Joros are in that world even though they have a sort of upgraded version of said web.

However, spiders cannot be simply described. Not the Joro, not any of them, and certainly, not all spiders as a collected order.

So, please, explore these books and expand your understanding of these beautiful creatures.

The Stuff of Nightmares or Gardens?

Maybe both. As you learn more, the nightmares will disappear.
